For the presentation of the cultural organisation programme for Xacobeo’s 2010 spring and summer, a double act was organised with the Xunta de Galicia, the organisation of Xacobeo and Llorente y Cuenca. We had a piece of each one of St. James’ Ways for one day in Madrid.
On the one hand, a press conference was held in the Casa de Galicia, to which politicians, such as the Director of the Casa de Galicia, D. José Ramón Ónega, Senator D. Manuel Fraga, the Mayor of Madrid D. Alberto Ruiz Gallardón, the President of the Partido Popular D. Mariano Rajoy, the Minister of Public Operations D. José Blanco, the Chairman of the Comunidad de Madrid, D.ª Esperanza Aguirre, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court D.ª María Emilia Casas Baamonde and the Chairman of the Xunta de Galicia D. Alberto Núñez Feijóo, all attended.
On the other hand, it was institutional act with the presence of the aforementioned politicians, in which 10 physical and 10 cultural walks all culminated at the dome of the Palacio de Telecomunicaciones de Cibeles in Madrid. Hundreds of guests representing both the Xunta de Galicia and the organisers of Xacobeo 2010 filled the 10 walks while sampling Galician produce along with a stella performance from Carlos Núñez. Music, film, literature, sport, scenic art, food, spirituality, activities for kids, reflection, and history: 10 walks presenting cultural offerings through different installations, expositions and creations.
